Photos of Cayuga Ducks
Photos of Cayuga ducks at USA Duck Team HQ farm and some of our partner farms.
Cayuga ducks are one of the few truly American Heritage Breed Ducks, developed in New York in the 1840s and recognized by the American Poultry Association in 1874. Their black plumage shows an iridescent beetle-green sheen in sunlight that makes them unlike any other duck breed. Our Dempsey Plus Lemonade line has placed in national and state shows and has been developed over four years of selective breeding for both show quality and meat-egg crossover performance. Mr. Lemonade won best old drake at the 2024 APA annual championships and Viola won best Old Hen at that national. Thing 1 won best Old Hen at the Missouri State Championships in 2025 and Sprite and Mr. Lemonande both won Best Medium Duck at the 2025 Missouri/Illinois State Poultry Association Championships. We haven’t won a ton of shows but you can now see our 5 points on the American Poultry Association exhibitor list. You can’t say you have show quality unless you actually show!
Our headquarters flock in Kansas City, KS is an NPIP-certified hatchery. We work with a network of farms across the US to distribute quality genetics to homesteaders and small producers. The photos here show our Cayuga ducks at our headquarters and at partner farms across the network.
